About The Nest
THE NEST is three different haunted attractions based on Jacob Kell and his actions and victims. It is a totally interactive experience produced by the producers’ of Alice Cooper’s Nightmare.
|
Over $100,000.00 in changes have been made for this year. Included are doubling the size of the maze, totally revamping the graveyard with additional effects including a 20’ flying creature and real dense “London fog”, scenes in the indoor attractions have been augmented with unbelievable detail. We have utilized the skills of horror movie propmaster, Keith Korner and sculptor Kyle Gorefest. |
The Story of The Nest:
In the normal course of events a movie was made and then haunted houses all over the country take the theme and use it to scare people. Bad characters are emulated like Jason, Freddy and Chucky. THE NEST is different. It is a haunted house, telling a story that needs to be told. Destined to become a Hollywood horror classic…
As legend has it, it is the gruesome tale of Arizona’s most notorious serial killer. A monster who caused more destruction than Winnie Ruth Judd and Charles Manson combined. It is the life of Jacob Kell, who in 1945 slaughtered an unprecedented 35 people before he was killed.
Jacob Kell was born slow but that was the least of his problems. Like his father before him Jacob also heard voices. These voices told him to do things... bad things. The voices drove his father to commit suicide when he couldn't silence them. Jacob couldn't silence the voices and was often seen by neighbors yelling and screaming at things that weren't there. Jacob’s sister, "Sissy" Kell, also heard the voices but unlike her brother she knew how to drown them out. She was also the only one who could calm Jacob down. After Jacob's father died his mother married Otis Keller. Otis was an abusive drunk who forced Jacob to sleep in the barn outside the house often telling Jacob "Only Humans is Allowed to sleep in the house!" Over the next two years Jacob made the barn into a home.
At 15 Jacob stood over 6’4”.. When Otis beat him he didn't even flinch this made Otis extremely angry. One night in September 1945, Otis in a drunken rage, chased Sissy out of the house. He grabbed her by the arm and threw her to the ground. Her head snapped against a large rock. She died instantly. What Jacob did to Otis is unfit to be told. After killing Otis, Jacob took his sister's body and waged a war against the society that shunned him. By the end 35 people were dead. It wasn’t until October 31, 1945 that Jacob was cornered and killed.
Legend says that the voices told Jacob to bury his sister's body in a graveyard behind the barn. And someday in the ultimate societal revenge, Jacob will come back from his grave. Now, 60 years the resurrection of “Killer Kell” is upon us.
THE NEST HAUNTED HOUSE is journey through the barn Kell made his home. The patron will experience a room by room journey of a demon’s lair culminating with a trip over the bridge, through total darkness for a glimpse of the creatures for Kell revenge.
Those who are brave can venture through the graveyard where he buried his beloved sister, “Sissy”. Try to make it through a maze of fence symbolizing the messed up mind. And then challenge THE CARNAGE, where Jacob performed most of his tortures. THE NEST isn’t for the faint of heart. It is story that had to be told. An Arizona legend, that lives this year in Queen Creek.
